Project Manager - Asset Management & Preparedness

$120,188 - $140,170 + 15.4% super

Brisbane or other AMSA location considered

2 x Non-ongoing opportunities (a 1-year contract and a 2-year contract)

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful candidate will have extensive client-side Project Management experience in a government environment or in an engineering, construction, maritime or industrial field. The role will focus on managing AMSA’s marine Aid to Navigation network capital and maintenance projects from conception to completion.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing capital projects from conception to completion to meet program and financial objectives.
  • Developing procurement, tender and technical specifications for capital and maintenance projects.
  • Monitor, manage and report on contractor performance.
  • Utilisation of procurement and contracting panels.
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and gaining approvals where required.
  • Undertake audits and inspections of maintenance or relevant projects and report on contractor’s compliance, quality, safety and environmental performance.
  • Review contractor documentation to ensure quality and completeness prior to uploading to the AMSA system.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant project management (PM) qualifications with, with extensive client-side PM experience.
  • Previous experience in a government environment, and/or in a maritime or construction field.
  • Highly developed client-side project and contract management skills including the ability to manage multiple contracts / projects and monitor contractor performance.
  • Demonstrated high level skills and experience in negotiation and liaison including stakeholder consultation and management.
  • Well-developed understanding of government policy in relation to procurement, tendering and contract management.
  • Understanding of contemporary environmental and risk management practices and Commonwealth and State workplace health and safety legislation.
