About the Role
Reporting to the Director HR Strategy, the Advisor HR Strategy provides practical and trusted HR advice to an allocated part of AMSA and delivers specialist HR work that supports organisational priorities. The role is broadly divided between HR business partnering (about 50 per cent) and an assigned HR specialist portfolio (about 50 per cent). This role has one direct report.
In this role you will:
- Build effective relationships with the Senior Leadership Group and understand their business, workforce priorities and operating context.
- Provide timely, practical and risk-based advice on workforce planning, organisational change, capability, employee matters and the application of HR policies and processes.
- Use workforce data, evidence and professional judgement to identify issues, recommendations and support sound people decisions.
- Support Senior Leadership Group members to strengthen people management capability, address workforce risks and achieve sustainable outcomes.
- Connect business areas with relevant HR expertise and work with colleagues to provide coordinated and consistent advice
For this advertised position, we are seeking a person to manage the L&D Portfolio, specifically to:
- Lead AMSA’s learning and development strategy and corporate learning portfolio.
- Provide expert advice on workforce capability and development priorities.
- Design and evaluate learning programs that are effective, compliant and aligned with business needs.
- Manage the Learning Management System and learning governance framework.
- Drive a culture of continuous learning and leadership development across AMSA
What We're Looking For
You will bring:
- Tertiary level qualifications in Human Resource Management, Commerce/Business, Psychology or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive HR experience working collaboratively with client areas to design, deliver and evaluate HR Strategy programs and initiatives that support corporate priorities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of contemporary practice in learning and development, organisational development, and learning management systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of employment related legislation (i.e. Fair Work Act and WHS Act) and the ability to apply this understanding to provide advice to clients.
- Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use data and evidence to identify issues, manage risks and develop practical recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead staff, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and adapt to working in a small, dynamic team, and proactively adapt focus as priorities change.
