About the Role

This role provides operational leadership across AMSA’s ICT environment, with accountability for major incident response and the stable, secure delivery of infrastructure and platform services.

You will act as the operational authority during high-impact incidents, coordinating technical teams and service providers to ensure timely resolution and clear communication, while providing people leadership to Level 3 technical staff.

The role maintains awareness of cyber security risks within ICT operations and works closely with Cyber Security and IT Security Advisory functions during security-related incidents.

In this role you will:

  • Act as the operational authority for major, escalated and cross-domain incidents, ensuring coordinated response and timely resolution
  • Lead and develop Level 3 technical staff, driving capability, performance and consistent operational standards
  • Own operational change and risk management for infrastructure services, including high-risk and emergency changes
  • Ensure secure, reliable and compliant operation of ICT infrastructure and platforms
  • Provide operational insight and continuous improvement through reporting, analysis and lessons learned

 

What We're Looking For

You will bring:

  • Experience coordinating ICT operations, major incidents and cross-domain technical activities in a complex environment
  • Proven people leadership experience for technical teams, including coaching, performance management and capability development
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure operations, service management and change control processes
  • Experience assessing and managing operational risk across planned and unplanned changes
  • Awareness of cyber security risks and controls within ICT operational environments
  • Experience working with third-party or managed service providers
  • Ability to provide clear, authoritative operational advice to senior stakeholders and governance forums
  • Experience supporting Change Advisory Boards or similar governance processes
  • Experience in government, regulated or safety-critical environments and familiarity with incident/change frameworks (desirable)
  • Behaviours aligned with One AMSA values and ways of working
